Mission Statement & Practice Philosophy

We are dedicated to providing orthodontic care of the highest caliber in a relaxing, comfortable, and friendly atmosphere. We strive to provide exceptional service before, during, and after treatment to establish a lifelong partnership with our patients.

We treat all of our patients in a compassionate and understanding manner. We want our patients to be delighted with the service they receive and so comfortable in the surroundings of our office that they can, without hesitation, whole-heartedly refer their friends to our practice. This is not only the ultimate measure of success of an orthodontic practice but also the highest form of compliment to our efforts.

We create beautiful smiles, while helping our patients realize the benefits of increased self-confidence and an improved quality of life. We can accomplish this by identifying our patients’ concerns and anticipating their needs, so that Dr. Cook and our team can work in mutual cooperation with the patient. In addition, we work in partnership with other dentists and health care professionals to help ensure comprehensive care for our patients.

Meet Dr. Cook

Dr. Cook

Dr. Cook is a dentist who specializes in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics for patients of all ages. He and his wife, Robin, opened Cook Orthodontics in 2003 shortly after finishing his residency. His goal was to create a family friendly orthodontic practice with focus on establishing long term relationships in a comfortable atmosphere.

Dr. Cook - Education

Dr. Cook attended Indiana State University on a full ride academic scholarship where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry in 1996. He attended dental school at Indiana University School of Dentistry. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from IUSD in 2000 where he graduated with High Distinction at one of the top in his class. He started his orthodontic residency at the University of Tennessee School of Dentistry that same year. He served as Chief Resident during his last year and graduated for the final time in 2003 with a Master of Dental Science degree. Credentials/Affiliations:

Dr. Cook - Family

When not helping patients embrace their beautiful smiles at Cook Orthodontics, Dr. Cook stays busy with his family. He and his wife, Robin, have been married since 1998 and are the proud parents to their son, Carson. Outside of life in the office Dr. Cook enjoys exercising, reading, cooking, watching movies, travel with his family, and chasing a ball around the golf course.

Scheduling & Financial Coordinator

Kat Carnes

Hi. I’m Kat and I joined Cook Orthodontics in October 2023. I’ve worked in the dental field for several years including at an oral surgery office. Orthodontics is a fun adventure and I look forward to seeing you when you arrive at office. I will be assisting you in making your appointments and answering your calls. In my free time, I spend time with my husband and pets. We enjoy dinners out and watching sports. I look forward to meeting you!

Treatment Coordinator

Kelly Kain

My name is Kelly and I will be with you for your first appointment at Cook Orthodontics. As the Treatment Coordinator, I will take all of your initial photos and x-rays and help Dr. Cook with your consultation. I have been a dental assistant for over 30 years and have been with Dr. Cook’s team since 2009. In my spare time I like to travel, read, shop and spend time with my 3 children at various sports or high school and college activities that they participate in. I am a Louisville Cardinals fan, Screaming eagles fan and a forever Memorial Tiger.

Rachel Maikranz

Hello! I’m Rachel and have been part of the Cook Ortho team since January 2011. You will see me assisting in the clinic as well as helping schedule your next visit. I love getting to know our patients and families, as well as seeing the transformation in each smile. Outside of work, I love travelling with my husband, spending time with family, following sports, and being outdoors.

Ashley Spainhoward

Hey there, I’m Ashley. I was lucky enough to join Cook Orthodontics back in 2014! You may see me at the front desk greeting you as you come in for your morning appointment. I can also be found in our clinic in the afternoon assisting Dr. Cook with putting braces on, taking braces off and all the appointments in between. One of my favorite things about what I do is getting to know our patients and families and developing those unique relationships. Outside of the office, I am always on the go! Whether it be a weekend trip, spending time with friends or visiting my family is Southern Illinois. My husband Alex and I also have our hands full with our wild maltipoo, Cayde! I am excited for you to join our Cook Ortho family!

Courtney Ervin

Hey there! I’m Courtney & I joined Cook Orthodontics in March 2021. I’m a Clinical Assistant & our Lab Coordinator. Since graduating from USI in 2012, I worked in oral surgery. However, I actually did rotations at Cook Ortho as a student! I couldn’t wait for the opportunity to come back & join such a wonderful team! You’ll see we’re more like family here. We have a lot of fun & really enjoy what we do! My husband & I have 2 beautiful children, Camilla & Eric. We also have 2 crazy dogs, Roman & Enzo. When I’m not in the office, you’ll find me hanging out with my kiddos most days. I enjoy spending time with family & friends, fishing, travelling, listening to music or true crime podcasts, & New Orleans Saints football! I can’t wait to meet you & help you on your ortho journey!

Eli Vollrath

Well hello! I’m Eli! I joined Cook Orthodontics in Feb 2023. I’m so glad I had the opportunity to join this team of people who are really more like family! I graduated from USI in 2013 and have been in dentistry ever since. Ortho is such a fun field to be a part of and I love seeing the transformations we create and the patient’s reaction when braces come off! Away from dentistry, I’m a HUGE sports fan! I love to travel for various events, play golf, hang out outdoors and listen to music! If you hear someone singing in the office, it’s definitely me! Being a part of your orthodontic journey will be the coolest thing ever!

Kaylee Beavers

Hey Y’all! I’m Kaylee and I joined Cook Orthodontics in September 2023. I have been in the orthodontic field for over 10 years. I really love my job and enjoy what we do. My husband and I have a precious daughter, Paislee, and a beloved dog, Goose. I enjoy spending time with my little family watching sports and doing everything that the outdoors has to offer, especially hunting and fishing . I can’t wait to meet you all and help you on your ortho journey!

Robin Cook

Hi. My name is Robin. I have been a team member at Cook Orthodontics since 2003. I work behind the scenes managing accounting and payroll tasks as well as our community outreach efforts. Outside of the office, I enjoy time with my husband, son (Carson) and sweet goldendoodle, Cody. I also enjoy playing tennis and learning to play golf, reading and travelling. I look forward to meeting you!
